ROLL RED ROLL TITLE SEQUENCE
A true-crime documentary that uncovers the deep-seated and social media-fueled “BOYS WILL BE BOYS” culture at the root of high school sexual assault in America.
For this title sequence Director Nancy Schwartzman wanted a blend of the digital decay of the internet and the aggressive football imagery of a town centered around the high school team.
When we removed the identities and, in many cases, whole bodies from the footage the pageantry of the games took on a much darker tone. Which, of course, we were invited to amplify.
We rotoscoped, blurred, blended and degraded until game footage & social media posts captured the intensity of a crime committed repeatedly: once in real life and forever on the internet.
